Transformational Mini-Retreats

Meaningful connection is formed when we bravely share our truth.

Michelle Maros

I love creating spaces and experiences in which body, mind, and spirit can come together creatively toward healing and spiritual connection—even if you’re not a creative!

Retreats are crafted in such a way as to help you intentionally incorporate both sides of the brain into whatever you’re working on in order to unlock your emotions, open yourself up spiritually, and bind knowledge and experience together in such a way that it is transformative all the way down to the wiring in your brain.

You can choose from one of the experiences below or work together with me to create an experience unique to your needs or the needs of your group.

  • RHYTHMS OF SELF CARE

    Rest, Restore, Renew

Matthew 11, in The Message, encourages us to “learn the unforced rhythms of grace” so that we may “learn to live freely and lightly.” But the truth is, most of us ain’t got no rhythm. And we sure as heck don’t feel FREE. More often than not, we are overscheduled, under-rested, and flat-out SPENT.  Spend a day or a weekend with Lorie learning and practicing these three important rhythms of renewal.

  • LIVING THE WHOLE SERENITY PRAYER

    The Pathway to Peace

Reinhold Niebuhr, in his famous poem, The Serenity Prayer, asks that he might learn to live with hardships one day at a time, in order that he “may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy… forever in the next.” Join Lorie as she digs into this prayer over an encouraging day or weekend through teaching, discussion, experiential exercises including art therapy, and prayer.

  • IDENTITY

    Called by Name

The very first time we are ever called, we are called by name. Names identify us. They tell us who we are. They tell us who we could be. That is why calling is not only a matter of being and doing what we are but also of becoming what we are not yet but are called to become. Join Lorie in a day or weekend of examining through art, writing, and discussion not only WHAT you’re called, but WHO you’re called TO BE.

  • PURPOSE

    Dreams and Visions

    pur·pose /ˈpərpəs/
noun: the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.

The reason FOR WHICH something is done or created or exists. I don’t know about you, but that indicates to ME that the REASON predicates the EXISTANCE. In other words, THE REASON COMES FIRST. So, if you EXIST, which (spoiler alert) you DO, it is FOR A REASON. YOU have a purpose. Join Lorie for a day or weekend of day dreaming together through various formats to discover your purpose for this season of life.

  • DISCOVERING JUST HOW INTIMATELY JESUS CARES FOR YOU

    The Lord Is My SHEPHERD

For anyone who wants to truly understand what it means to view Jesus as our shepherd. What does that reveal about ourselves? What does that tell us about our relationship to him? What does that say about the care he gives to us? Join Lorie for a day or weekend of exploring and experiencing through teaching, discussion, experiential exercises, and prayer what it really means to be a part of Christ’s dear flock.

  • CREATE YOUR OWN RETREAT

What do YOU want to experience?

All retreats are customizable to you or your group to a point, but if you would like something entirely tailored to your own theme and desired outcomes, I am happy to create that for you as long as it’s in my wheelhouse! (Due to my physical limitations, 2.5-3 days is the max I can commit to, so keep that in mind as we’re planning.)

Retreats are priced according to a number of variables including the length, the number of people, the amount of customization (because this requires that I create new content) and the cost of the supplies. Prices do NOT include the arrangement of a space. If you choose not to use the space I have available, you are responsible for securing a location for us to meet.

Retreats are a great way to:

  • Get away and be refreshed
  • Develop vulnerability and intimacy as a group
  • Focus on a particular area of desired transformation in a concentrated way
  • Take a deeper dive into something because we’re able to give it more time
  • Address a particular emotional or spiritual need in your life or the lives of you and your friends
  • Begin or end an important season of life
  • Invest in yourself or your relationships

Despite the energy output they require, I’ve got to be honest—retreats are one of my favorite things to do because I get to turn the experiential level up a couple of notches, which then dials up the potential for effective and lasting RE|formation as well!

Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation.
